Difference between windows server 2012 5- device client access license and windows server 2012 RDS 5-Device CAL

hi,

i confused the difference between windows server 2012 5- device client access license , windows server 2012 rds 5-device cal.

from microsoft have difference prices.

so can tell me difference , suggest 1 use?

hi,

the difference usage:

windows server cal (first mentioned) client access license accessing windows server windows 7/8 client. need 1 connecting server, e.g. when using active directory.

windows rds cal (second mentioned) client access license using remote desktop services. if connect (old named) terminalserver need such cal.

here can find cals:

http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/about-licensing/client-access-license.aspx

hope helps!

regards

eric
