nps server running win 2012 r2. i testing wired 802.1x policies in test lab.  switch has been configured accordingly , client authentication works when using domain membership (via 'domain computers' group) condition. the problem have if try extend condition include or solely contain health policy.  it doesn't matter health policy conditions (check windows firewall or antivirus on etc) authenticating wired client never works. the nps server event log shows client denied access , strange network policy mentioned in event log not policy containing compliant or non-compliant health policies.  it's separate network policy used 802.1x wireless implementation.  so seems nps server skips past wired network access policies when health policy used within them. i have network access policy agent running on client, eap enforcement client enabled on client, 802.1x authentication settings valid on client.  i have been through many online 802.1x setup guides , sure every

i did search , cannot find on this.  perhaps not using correct terms. i have 2 windows 2008 servers (1 sbs2008, 1 standard) set via gpo download updates not install them.  has been working fine. this morning, when logged each of them, updates had been automatically installed , reboot nag window up.  checked windows update settings on each, , set install updates automatically.  went policies , verified still set (servers not set install automatically).  went sbs2008 console , verified machines assigned correct computer groups. i person administering gpo on these servers, , thing changed yesterday added 4 other machines server computer group (not windows server os's, machines decided should not update automatically). thanks in advance can provide. found solution in thread (better luck searches today) , appears have solved issue: final update: ok, found out problem. in gpmc scope tab security filtering section both "update services client computers policy

alright, don't asking help, i'm desperate. i'm dir of mid-size company around 8 windows servers , less 1000 computers running windows 7. we're power users around here however, i've yet figure out solution deal fragmentation - on servers.  i've been windows user since days , it's hard believe these issues still exist windows file system. listen, take more stable file system on flashy graphics in windows 8 day. bottom line - our employees are workaholics , work remotely @ hours. can't run manual or schedule defrag job on these servers without interfering significantly performance of applications run. take exchange - microsoft recommends running the defragmentation process during off-hours and preferable with the exchange databases stopped ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328804 ). really? don't have "off-hours" - option!?! take our file servers - pretty hammered constant data transfers going on - high rate of file

hi, have 2 private networks (virtual networks, on hyper-v, each has own private nic). now, provide 2 additional machines on easch network , idea eastablsih connection between networks. design following: network 1 ip: 192.168.10.x rras machine: private nic 192.168.10.1 , internal nic 192.168.50.1 network 2 ip: 192.168.11.x rras machine: private nic 192.168.11.1 , internal nic 192.168.50.2. need machine first network (example 192.168.10.5) ping machine on second network (192.168.11.5). should setup nat/vpn (rras) on 2 machines? thnx! hi james, with regards terminolody, nat, use terms 'private' , 'internal' same network internal company network, , 'public' being wan network. however, exchange clustering, it's different story, use terms 'private' cluster network, , 'public' corporate network. from you've described, have 2 networks, whether networks virtual or physical, still 2 networks need communicate
