i trying evaluate wse 2016 against amahi   home server. first, cannot locate wse 2016 specific forum version. closest seems here.   i got no response yesterday i’m trying ask again – time more detail – on assume must common issue. i downloaded new wse 2016 on clean (ssd) server nothing on it.  whole thing went amazingly easy , fast.  have being using whs 2011. similarities between 2 give me great comfort! i have 1 problem however, don’t see written newbie. all w10 pcs connected “workgroup” (whose name “workgroup”)  for old whs.  accessing them whs simple – click on network icon in whs file explorer.  with wse 2016, can see wd10 pc’s , icons in wse file explorer. when click example, on icon asks “credentials connect to:- johnscomputer”. a popup asks password vitasoft\john when set wse named domain “vitasoft”.  the password on wd10 pc not work.  have change w10 system properties “workgroup” “member of domain” the problem have when type in vitasoft domain on wd10

hi everybody, i having pretty annoying problem our hyper-v cluster. one, , 1 of our vms keeps getting state disk performance absolutely horrible (a few tens of kbps on sequential transfers). interactive performance in rdp affected. however, live migration second node in cluster, performance goes should be. live migrating original cluster node keeps performance up, that until few hours later, @ couple of days, performance goes being horrible. apply, rinse, repeat. in parent partition on cluster node, disk performance fine, irregardless of happens in vm. no abnormal cpu usage seen, either in parent, or in vm. no particular events logged either. live migration pretty slow when vm in affected state, moving performs observably faster (i.e., once problem "reset" through live migrating on second node). the cluster ws2012, vm ws2012. functions file server, no other software installed, not antivirus. vm relatively large (4 vcpus, 32 gb ram, 120 gb dynamic vhdx system dr

hi, i trying setup first failover cluster couple free hyper-v 2016 servers.  i have synology shared stored connected through iscsi.  i have 1 lun connected , formatted on first host , validated , setup cluster using failover cluster manager. the validation gave no warnings or errors.  i see storage listed under storage->disks.  from online documentation can find, supposed right click , select "add cluster shared volumes".  however, not have option anywhere!?!? i don't know missing here.  i appreciate help! thanks emmanuel.  the disk "assigned disk witness in quorum".  so how many disks need have?  i want 1 vhdx storage. the witness disk has role in cluster why not seeing action want available on it. you need create lun , assign nodes in cluster. format that, add disks in fcm, should show available storage. add cluster shared volumes. can use vm storage. i recommend read documentation better understanding on clustering in general: h

i've been struggling find solution this.  have network share maps user home folders, using aduc profile home folder path. replace using gpp, can't seem figure out setup applies multiple users. at current time, i'm using create \\server\share\%logonuser% item-level targeting (user - %logonuser%) i've tried multiple variations of same thing, still no go, appreciated. sean thanks resolved issue.  info: you have create user folder share first , assign appropriate permissions, using gpp can use create \\server\usrhome\%username% item level targeting security group contains members of company.   works nice!!! hi,   i have 2 exchange 2007 running on windows 2008 server running hub transport role, have configured these servers smtp nlb. there wmi string, can check connections on each server. i using wug nms server monitor windows servers. using have selected " msexchangetransport smtpreceive \ connections current" displaying maximum 15 connections on node 2 whereas on node 1 reaching 2700 connections.   if these values correct means nlb not distributing load equally.  or selecting wrong monitor.     Windows Server  >  High Availability (Clustering)

hello, i have 1 windows server 2003 r2 x64 sp2 ent . facing problem.  server not patched (windows security updates importantly) couple of years, running windows security updates manual installation lately.  updates got installed except around 55 security updates, keep on failing error message ' following updates failed install" . updates downloading in softwaredistribution folder windows update manager in site unable install it.  me these updates important tried every solution/work around ( fixit windows update, fixit windows installer, re-registering update components, name.  tried , still failed install 55+ security updates) so out of mess , go next best thing, worked in-place-upgrade  server windows server 2003 r2 x64 sp2 windows server 2008 r2 ent x64 sp1 failing later windows server 2008 ent x64 sp2.  both versions fail continue installation after file copying stage following error  (sure removed non-compatible softwares/drivers shown in compatibility report

i've created composite report contents page , number of sub-reports page breaks between each one.  want numbering reset so actual reports given page numbers starting @ 1. used global variable on footer , set first subreport reset page number. this renders fine in in preview , debug modes not export word correctly numbering starts @ 1 on first page.    tried varying value using render format variable resulted in page numbers being 0 in word document. does have viable work around such don't first page number of 1 , page numbers show adjusted accordingly in word? hi have windows server 2008 r2 operating system on c drive. have drive d partition of ssd drive. drive d had little data on it. i have 2 further drives part of a separate 500gb hdd drive connected within dvd drive of machine. these drive x , z respectively. drive x had significant amount of data on including 2 virtual machines. drive z empty i had issue rebooting after windows update install, error 'bootmgr missing, press ctrl alt del restart'. i downloaded windows server 2008 r2 disk repair the operating system repaired os boot machine. all files on c drive untouched, files on x drive deleted. both virtual machines , data deleted , in place 2 files 'system volume information' , 'recycle bin' remained.  i did not notice change d , z drives there minimal files in these.  i don't know happened have lost alot of work 120gb. i'm not sure how data on a separate physical hard drive c drive can written over. possible? know how repair disk works , i
