hi guys,   i getting crazy, crazy , crazy again!!!!   i installed sql server developers.   with can open , build databases on sql-server not on sql-express.     with visual studio 2008 can open , create database sql-express not sql-server     why that?   why have suffer much??? hell have done??? why these products badly designed!!!   sql server multi-instance, windows service base database engine; not word or excel. each instance of sql server different program, independent of other instances of sql server installed on computer. can not share databases between instances of sql server, idea of creating database sql express , opening sql developer simple doesn't make sense. if want move databases between separate instances of sql server need detach database, move appropriate \data directory instance want open on , re-attach it.   this not bad design, server design, , servers work differently client programs such word , excel. you'll need lear

hello: i'm trying deploy old custom software on computer running windows server 2016 essentials. used run on windows 7 professional, 64-bit, without issues. the software in question provides interface hardware used on site. unfortunately software vendor no longer in business, , replacing competitor product cost many thousands of $$. need find solution in changing settings in windows first. i did search , page explains issues i'm seeing.  the software in question uses old borland database engine (bde) not compatible with  address space layout randomization (aslr) , we're getting sporadic crashes , memory errors. so question -- can disable aslr in windows on global level? @ least testing purposes see if solves issue. and, second question -- else can change in windows server 2016 make run more windows 7 pro may causing issues software? hi, far know, there no legitimate way disable aslr. security enhancement, and, not recommended disable it. referenc

hi, i have vpn configured on our network using isa 2004 , ias our radius servers.  enterprise root certificate installed on network. ias configured vpn policy using smart card authentication our eap method.  ms-chap v2 checked.  server certificate selected , configured. problem: every time try connect using ipsec vpn message appears before full connection established. "the root certificate authority server's certificate is: .......servername...... if correct certificate, click ok connect , not see message again.  click cancel drop connection" notes: - if click ok.. connection made , fine... everytime try connect messages still appears. - trusted root certificate of server installed on local machine making connection. - when viewing server certificate, server certificate status "ok" , accepted. - problem occured ever since enterprise root certificate server expired.. new 1 issued , not expired. question: why getting error though server certificate in trusted root

dear fellow geeks, i work infrastructure setup comprising of 2 terminal servers , around 500+ users connecting using remote desktop. server 1 primary windows server 2012 , server 2 backup windows 2008. out of 500 around 350 pdu users , working fine. the rest 150 users pc users connects server 1 , access erp application hosts. the problems printer redirection, when users start connecting server local printers redirected  server in current session,but after around 100 users connected printer redirection stops working new users, none of printers redirected server. then solve issue temporarily restart following services 1) print spooler 2) remote desktop services usermode port redirector after users connecting hereafter gets printers redirected, solve issue maybe couple of  hours happens again. to reduce overall printers being redirected created custom group policy redirect maximum of 5 printers per user. still issue same. please let me know if has idea this.

i may missing setting/option is, there way either control inheritance or "applies to" dynamic access control when using central access policy? i creating mock using access based enumeration in file share dynamic access controls.  desired outcome apply central access policy root folder, propegates down of subfolders automatically created.  problem unless root folder passes configured access rules, users don't have rights share itself. i'd able have central access policy apply subfolders or files of share , not share itself.  things work fine if manually add policy each subfolder it's created.  isn't preferred method means though.  ideas/suggestions? thanks! hi, i discussed other colleagues case. seems currently we not have option apply cap subfolders and/or files wihtout parent folder. still beta version, let's see if there improve in release version. technet subscriber support in forum |if have feedback on our support, please contact tnmf
