my computer has windows vista home, x86. have been using visual web developer express 2005 , ssme 2005, upgraded vwde 2008  sp1 (that upgrade  included upgrade sql server 2008). of course, need upgrade ssme 2008 web sites have changed vwde 2008.   i have downloaded file , tried install several times. when sql installation center, choose upgrade, get select features page, selections greyed out , can't go further because error message says, "select feature install." have tried install ssme 2008 without upgrade sql installation center , same type of greyed out stuff , can't make selections.   after spending morning reading blogs , technical columns, left having no idea of how ssme 2008 working on computer. ideas? hi, i have migrated 2-tier pki windows server 2003 x86 windows server 2008 r2 environment. migration went fine without big problems, minor issues only. both ca's online.... when migration w2003 -> w2008r2 made adds schema not upgraded. because of didn't installed web enrollment services. schema upgraded 2 weeks ago (migration made on feb 2011) , after web enrollment service installed. everyting has been working until installed web enrollment service. @ moment situation root ca has 2 aia locations , 2 http location able download crl , crt files via ie or windows explorer. enterprise pki shows error message "unable download". subca has problems http locations also. when copy link , open ie crl & crt files open correctly. enterprise pki shows same error in root ca. haven't done changes root ca. changes has been made (exept security fixes) has been web enrollment service installation subca regarding ad certificate services. and checked today mor

hello everyone. i've been having long term issues microsoft dns server on 08 server box runs in house's basement. server manages active directory , hosts sql server among other things. client computers in house use server primary , dns server. dns role on server has been left in vanilla state, no forwarders etc.  this works fine, generally. local lan dns lookups work fine time. however, internet dns ups more sporadic. majority of time internet looks ups work fine , there's no issues. (every couple of days) addresses, resolved fine time out when client tries contact dns server.  right-clicking in dns mmc , hitting "clear cache" solves issue , address resolves fine.  i've tried research on issue, without tangible success. i'd be grateful if able me this.  hey yman, googled 'server 2008 dns timeout' , found here. i'm having similar issue, yet sort it. 1 thing note, found warning in dns event log event number 4013 might give c
