non techie here. i have project need 151gb of data spread over 375000+ files moved win 2003 fap 2008 server. copy, xcopy, robocopy take in excess of 50hours move external hdd. has external move security reasons. i have 40 hours max off , onto new server.   cheers  ian ok, possibly thinking wrong.  assume have 2003 , 2008 server, , running tests, , these files used daily..thus making changes? so 40 hour limitation, window complete final copy, not situation 2008 server @ hour 1 , leaves @ hour 40?  have server now, need complete copy on weekend. simple....use robocopy, xcopy, etc pre-stage server in advance , prior 40 hour window.  use robocopy, dfs-replication, or beyond compare copy on changes happen after initial stage. so plan in looks this 1 week in advance copy data 2008 server, take 2-3 days in 40 hours window copy on changes....this should take fraction of time. we use beyond compare type of migration time.

hi, we have number of server 2008 terminal servers in testing @ moment. we have roaming pofiles, folder redirection and lockdown working expected. however on 1 of servers "all users" profile different "changes" made in testing process. i having trouble recreating "all users" profile default profile is locked , cannot simly copied server. does know if there a failsafe method recreate "all users" profile rather reinstallation of server. thanks in advance. billy billy have tried copying when no 1 logged either system? hi all, i hope can me here. we have forest multiply domains. each domian(for each country) has 3 dc's. country(domain) ru seems have domain sync issue.  the dc's except 3 .ru dc's have event id error: 1864 tobstone lifeime on 60... the dc1.ru has event id's 1925 , 2042 dc's dc2.ru , dc3.ru have no error entries in event log. sync goes dc2.ru dc3.ru , back. , dc3.ru sync goes dc1.ru. dc1.ru sync goes other dc's in other domains in forest. by running dcdiag , repadmin see no errors on dc3.ru , dc2.ru. if start dcdiag , repadmin on dc1.ru see dc2.ru , dc3.ru last sync 2012.02.29. same results on other dc's in forest. but if try create user object no matter on dc, dc1.ru, dc2.ru or dc3.ru user syncing each of them without problems. i'm now. hope here pro's or allready has same issue can me solve it. we on server 2008 sp2 i have agree, , mentioned myself , others, dc2.ru , dc3.ru must force demoted, metadata cleanup, re-promoted.

i new windows server 2008, , have small network setup of 5 servers , 3 workstations/laptops.  i want 2 of 5 servers domain controllers. i have ran dc promo , set first server ad ds. used net.kevinkarimu.com dc fqdn. domain kevinkarimu.com registered powweb.com. there interface @ powweb can manage dns domain (a name, cname, mx, etc).  the network servers , workstations run under at&t u-verse router has dhcp. at&t has provided 5 static public ips (at request). however, think ips dcs should local or private. when attempting add 2nd dc, error: an error occurred when dns queried service location (srv) resource record used locate active directory domain controller (ad dc) domain "net.kevinkarimu.com". error was: "no records found given dns query." i unable log on windows 2003 server via remote desktop when else logged in. received following pop message. "the terminal server has exceeded maximum number of connections." when other person logged out, able logon without issues. fyi, both administrators. when 1 person tries connect session, logged off. okay. ended having work. once both users logged in, need go task manager>users tab. right click on user want interact , choose remote control , press ok. should allow view other user’s session.   Windows Server  >  Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services)

hi, we try implement a scheduled script based solution with wuauclt.exe /updatenow command for of our server in company. these servers should update in time after last succesful backup job. we want start "after backup succesfully completed" job, i.e. in 3rd party acronis backup agent, or psexec command, or remote scheduled task schtasks.exe. at moment, im out of luck troubleshooting , have no idea, whether wuauclt.exe can used our intend. for understanding: it seems, wuauclt.exe /updatenow depends on interactive user has logged on machine. because if try start wuauclt.exe /updatenow locally in command prompt, graphical windows update windows opnening , installation of updates starting. at least iam interpreting this error: 0x800703f0 => "error_no_token attempt made reference token not exist" => process need user token active user session launching windows update gui in? the other switches wuauclt.exe, i.e. /reportnow or detectnow works sta
