hello, have odd situation here. in school environment, 3 separate campuses. students , faculty 2 primary security groups. when faculty member, including myself logs laptop, there desktop , documents redirected fine. but, when students logs laptops, there desktop , documents not redirected. there error message comes saying : \\domain.local\file-share\userid\desktop not accessible. might not have permission use network resource. contact administrator of server find out if have access permissions. logon failure: target account name incorrect. :) don't love when message says contact administrator, , administrator. :) when students connect laptop lan, works fine. when trying use wifi, of time. that's laptops for, portability using wifi, since move class class. happening new student accounts on laptops. oh, 1 other thing have notest, first time student login laptop on wifi, seems account setup local account on computer, not network account folders being redirect

hello, i running 4 host windows server 2012 hypervisor failover cluster environment , know thoughts on using multiple csvs (5 or more) store vhds. i have researched windows server 2012 not necessary use 1 csv per vhd in previous versions of windows server. have 12 csvs (1 csv hosts vms , os vhds), while other csvs host vhds hold specific data.  is alright have many csvs or should move data few? 1 csv departmental data vhds , 1 csv vms , os vhds? what total number of csvs host cluster can work with? please advise , thank in advance, no need many csvs.  can single csv , work fine.  if need more luns io purposes, add csv. there lot of personal preferences in how many csvs have.  people have @ least many csvs have nodes in cluster , try balance ownership among nodes.    people make csvs large possible.  make csvs size allows complete recovery within recovery window. as can see, there lot of different views.  no single, correct, answer fits every situation.  however, 12

hello, we have windows 2008r2 sp1 terminalserver, running on windows 2008r2 sp1 hyper-v server. on every terminalserver following eventlog entry daily multiple times (between 3-8 times): the terminal server security layer detected error in protocol stream , has disconnected client. client ip: xx.x.xx.x log name:      system source:        termdd eventid:    56 our users disconnected session when working on terminalserver. users using remoteapps. users have installed rdp 7 on windows xp or windows 7 clients. users working on same lan terminalserver or vpn access (site site vpn, ipsec). both users, on lan , vpn, affected. so looks not vpn problem. users not disconnected same time. have tried updating nic driver on pc, no effect. i have tried add regkey enablepmtubhdetect under hklm\system\currentcontrolset\services\tcpip\parameters\ maybe can us? maybe has similar problems? using vpn sonicwall devices, but, problem seems exist on lan without vpn....

greetings, i have been developing drupal based site on azure web role year (http://useum.org). db backend using sql azure. occasionally (1-2 times per month), sql azure becomes very very slow causes site unusable (home page loads forever). lasts 5-30 minutes each time, , after works again fast usual. last time happened half hour ago (18:30 - 19:00 gmt). during these downtimes, have connected (remote desktop) instances , work fine, cpu low, robots.txt loads instantly indications not azure web role problem. when pages load (when load), delay simplest query 20-120 seconds (using devel module). windows azure management interface shows working no sign of problem. first times happened (last year), thought due beta phase of azure. thought technical issue being resolved. thought un-anounced maintenance window, since happened more on weekends. now think on purpose force me purchase support plan! has ever had similar experience web role sql azure backend? can something, collect s

event 14350 dfssvc (dfs namespace service) occurrs every 20 minutes referenced root sysvol.  text of event dfs not access private data active directory. please manually check network connectivity, security access, and/or consistency of dfs information in active directory. error occurred on root sysvol." additionally, occurs every time manual attempt made connect sysvol share using format \\server1\sysvol. (the connect dialog not appear, , no credentials requested) this error not occur on manual connection sysvol share using format \\server1.mydomain.local\share (credentials requested in "connect to" dialog). my guess process trying every 20 minutes connect sysvol using \\server1\sysvol. how can error eliminated? thanks. i have same problem. hello , time , expertise.  have terminal server running 2008 r2.  disabled printer redirection in group policy , want delete local printers such microsoft xps printer.  have logged on domain admin , local administrator on machine , access denied error message.  both of groups have manager server , manage printers permissions.  frustrating.  have install print management role accomplish simple task.  sorry if simple appreciate or please let me know i'm missing.  in advance. in ui, admins have user access. the acls granted group apply new printers added after changing default security. you not need add print role suggest adding rsat tools print role purpose of admining local printers. if not want snapin on machine, open a cmd window administrator.  launch task manager, end explorer.exe process.  in cmd type   explorer.exe.  launch shell admin credentials.  delete local printer.  log off , logon restore explorer it's default lower permission level. alan morris window

i have managed configure sstp vpn connection on internal client pc, through registry fixes. keep getting error relating checking see if server has been revoked.......
