Adding Servers to WSUS

hi -

i'm trying decide best practice following situation. have 600 clients @ multiple sites (high speed links) mananged 1 wsus server , of working correctly. wanting add 40 servers wsus managed environment. these servers windows server 2003, exchange, , sql server. these servers manually updated ..

my question best practice way manage ? seems me if add these 40 servers managment console, become administrative headache, of updates populating interface , fact servers may updated little less due longer testing cycles.

i'm thinking separate wsus server servers ...

what thoughts or how manage in environment ?

thanks,

ken

a separate server data center reasonable solution, particularly if there little or no crossover amongst persons managing updates systems.

however, if same administrators managing updates systems -- 600 clients , 40 servers, simpler solution add 40 servers existing wsus server , synchronize windows server, exchange, , sql server update content. you'll want create appropriate wsus target groups servers, , may find advantage in creating custom update view categories of products (winserver, exchange, sql server).
