i set server 2016 tp3 without gui. tried install hyper-v feature , got message: install-windowsfeature : prerequisite check hyper-v feature failed. 1. hyper-v cannot installed: processor not support second level address translation (slat). @ line:1 char:1 + install-windowsfeature hyper-v -restart i installed 2016 on test box on wiped out server 2012 r2 running hyper-v. the machine quad core. i believe hyper-v of 2012 required slat... because not install hyper-on on laptop running windows 8.1 (and message no slat). --- when hit wrong note next note makes or bad. --- miles davis hyper-v server 2012 didn't require slat, windows 8.x hyper-v did. now, server version too. if have core 2 quad core, don't have slat. i hope here can point me @ right direction. critical machine failed our second dc. have hyper-v host 2 guests running on it. no changes have been made host or failing guest machine. host can talk other vm , vice versa. host has external network configured , has checkbox sharing network adapter checked. vm failing using particular network. failing vm has static ip configured within same subnet host. cannot ping vm host , vm cannot ping host. file , printer sharing enabled on guest. let me know kind of additional info can provide i'll start above.  hi caltrolit, do meant host , other vm still work well except vm second dc ? if the vm can not ping host , other vm , host , other vm can ping each other , please try add new network adapter for problematic vm see if vm can work . on host (running windows 2008 r2 datacenter) i have serveral vms running few have second pass through disk lun going them (data drives). upon doing system restart on host luns changed there positons on host machine. iscsi mappings no longer worked. had manually remap them. is there way make sure luns keep same number, if host restarted vms can restart correct drives? this os problem. san drivers still attached hyper v couldn't assign drivers right iscsi drive because drive number had changed. caused server reboot , server reassigned drives different spots. have since done few reboot tests , far drives have kept same number. i have windows 2003 standard domain controller, windows 2003 r2 standard member server files on it, , windows 2008 r2 member server @ remote location.   i'd replicate files member server #1 member server #2 (the remote one), using dfsr.  i'd able add member server @ remote location in future, sync member server #1.  i planning on using hub-and-spoke replication topology.  here's i'm confused: the namespace server should member server #1, right? should using windows 2000 domain-based namespace in situation? is namespace scenario fault tolerant (i.e. happens when 1 of servers goes down)? any assistance appreciated.  resason, seem having trouble wrapping head around dfs. oh sorry consider dfs include dc. but still need use windows 2000 mode not servers in dfs windows 2008, cannot use windows 2008 mode. i created new team project named projecta , new source control folder named projecta.  i migrated solution projecta in visual sourcesafe newly created projecta in tfs source control. then deleted solution folder in tfs source control , performed check in. next deleted team project using tfsdeleteproject , deleted according results of tfsdeleteproject in command prompt. in source control explorer can still see projecta , under folder deleted solution. why is source control folder projecta not deleted? when try undelete deleted solution see following message: tf10175: team project folder $/projecta not exist. contact team foundation server administrator , ask created. i have refreshed source location projecta still there? persisted? in v1 there no way delete source controlled item - can mark deleted , undelete later (i don't know how works deleting team project, involves many other parts). hide deleted items in sce, please go tools->options->source control-&
