Problem installing Windows 2008 Server Standard Trial

hi guys,

i've downloaded trial above software , tried installing message after booting machine , progress bar @ bottom saying 'windows loading files...' completes;

windows failed start. recent hardware or software change might cause. fix problem:

1. insert wnidows installation disk , restart computer.
2. choose language settings , click 'next'.
3. click 'repair computer'.

if not have disc, contact system administrator or computer manufacturer assistance.

file: \windows\system32\boot\winload.exe

status: 0xc0000001

info: selected entry not loaded because application missing or corrupt.



this happens whether try installation on bare metal or virtual machine.
i tried downloading trial twice in case of file corruption. (by way, couldn't find md5sums anywhere download.)

the downloaded file 6001.18000.080118-1840_amd64fre_server_en-us-krmsxfre_en_dvd.iso

any ideas?

did download windows server 2008 following site?

 

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/trial-software.aspx

 

i suggest downloading above site again , performing clean install of windows server 2008.

 

then please unplug unnecessary devices such sound card, printer, network card , external hard drives.

 

after that, please boot dvd, format drive , install windows server 2008 again.

 

what’s result?

 

if issue persists, may contact computer manufacturer confirm if computer can support windows server 2008.

Cannot create Full Text Search catalog after upgrading to V12 - Database is not fully started up or it is not in an ONLINE state

in order access new full text search capiblities of sql azure, upgraded our azure sql v12. (a day later), when try create new catalog: create fulltext catalog mycatalog default i following message: msg 9972, level 16, state 100, line 1 database not started or not in online state. try full-text ddl command again after database started , becomes online. hi scott, apologies inconvenience caused you. known issue on service side , fix going included in next update. specific case mitigated, should able use full-text search syntax now. thanks, mihaela Microsoft Azure  >  Azure SQL Database
