Folder Redirection not working on WiFi

hello, have odd situation here. in school environment, 3 separate campuses. students , faculty 2 primary security groups. when faculty member, including myself logs laptop, there desktop , documents redirected fine. but, when students logs laptops, there desktop , documents not redirected. there error message comes saying :

\\domain.local\file-share\userid\desktop not accessible. might not have permission use network resource. contact administrator of server find out if have access permissions.

logon failure: target account name incorrect.

:) don't love when message says contact administrator, , administrator. :)

when students connect laptop lan, works fine. when trying use wifi, of time. that's laptops for, portability using wifi, since move class class. happening new student accounts on laptops. oh, 1 other thing have notest, first time student login laptop on wifi, seems account setup local account on computer, not network account folders being redirected.

problem has started come week, , don't' have clue casing happen. have done research on message , think dfs namespaces. have 2 servers, let's server1 , server2. server1 dc,dhcp, dns, file service, , on. server2 set file server. both win 2008 r2 servers.

faculty accounts setup redirected server1. while students accounts setup redirected server2. both setup point our domain name "\\domain.local\file-homes\userid". have changed students redirect point server name , ip. still not seem help.

if can assist me in finding  a solution appreciated.

thanks in advance.

hello, mary dong

lat me clarify little on post. students directories on server2 , faculty directories on server1. firewall issue there none. computer firewall have been disabled. firewall 1 access internet. don't think dns issue, on safe side.

in testing see if students accounts can access unc paths. default students can't enter unc past security. think? part of system inheritance previous tech coordinator. i'm unsure of setting in place. so, test if students can access shard directory. access server browsing network under computer. there error message reads:

\\server2\fileshare refers location unavailable. on hard drive on computer, or on network. check make sure disk inserted, or connected internet or network, , try again. if still cannot located, information might have been moved different location.

i have double check permission. students should able access folder. test gave them full access minus change permissions , take ownership, folder, subfolders , files.

any ideas is?
