i work @ place , if have cat 5 network cable can plug laptop jack here , on internet? shouldnt have access domain before getting on internet? how can fixed , how tell department because evidently dont understand isnt security?? right

if want secure environment, @ implementing network access protection (nap).  technology allow verify health of clients before allowing them on network.  there few different ways implement it.  1 way allows require 802.1x authentication before switches allow clients connect.  ensure don't have access if plug network.  check out link below more info:
