Tracking who is using a DFS root


hi all

i in process of working out plan decomission dfs root in overly complex environment. being done creating new root , linking existing data eventual aim of accessing data via consolidated namespace.

in order decomission old root domain based root i need able track still using access data, can identified , politely requested use new namespace.

does know if there way log dfs root server? @ moment current ideas network tracing filtering dfs requests or potentially auditing file accesses on dfs root share .... none floating boat wondering if there better way.

you can try audit folders , files on file server. the system security log in event viewer log actions files or folders on server.
