Upgrade from DesktopStandard PolicyMaker Client


we have been using desktopstandard policymaker client 3 years now, , have loved it. in fact, have possible being done through group policy, including login scripts, system configurations, printer/drive mapping, security, etc.

what upgrade path new microsoft version?

will old gpo's work new clients?

is there documentation on differences, or process out there? can't seem find any, yet.

there's nothing official on this, now. might upgrade tool can run converts policies.


will old gpo's work new clients?

no, won't work. client side extension guids have changed you'll either have wait microsoft provide solution (based on patch or tool) or own hands on this. in theory, you'd have touch group policies , change guids of cses , rename "policymaker" folder on sysvol "preference" that's theory, didn't try myself...
