User Logon Mode & chglogon /query

microsoft says chglogon /query should return if host server taking sessions or not returns "connections enabled group policy machine, unable change."

trying find "user logon mode" of 1 of host servers. based on microsoft says should able run above command , results gives me same message whether server set "allow connections", "allow reconnections, prevent new logons", or "allow reconnections, prevent new logons until server restarted."

my goal not have log on each of session hosts find out if taking sessions or not. there no other way pull information remotely running command or something?

also know can use remote desktop session host configuration connect computer, not want either.  there should way query information remotely.
