Can disabling IE Protected mode improve performance on RDS server

hi there,
have 15 - 20 users on rds server , different users experience several seconds lag when entering text keyboards.

we've found cpu usage @ different times averaging 30-70%. have doubled ram , added second processor rds set use exclusive numa node, problem doesn't appear have ceased @ all.

looking threads of highest cpu time user processes (often ie11) process explorer, found reference protected mode , being 80% of process demand.

i'd test if there performance improvements users having protected mode disabled via gpp.

this setting isn't avail in gpp , have win 2008 r2 ie8 latest version listed. i've manually edited ie8 internetsettings.xml http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2733083
add disabled="1" every xml tag includes following value:
name=”2500”
set version tag max="11.5.0.0"

but...

after applying gpo ie still has protected mode enabled , configurable.

is there else can here..?

you can import ie11 gpo templates 2008 dcs here:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=40905

keep in mind not ie settings controlled through main ie gpo, of them under ie maintenance has changed users > preferences > control panel settings > internet settings - may required create new 1 , go there
