Integrating RDweb and Remote Apps from Remote Desktop Services (RDS) into the Essentails Remote Web Access (RWA) portal
if have exchange server side side essentials server, there nice feature in essentials can open essentials dashboard, click on services section , follow wizard "integrate exchange server"
once done, can log on standard essentials rwa portal , access 1 location, including owa email. integration wizard adds nice email tile rwa portal makes nice , neat single url give users everything.
following on above though, if have separate remote desktop services (rds) server, there hidden integration wizard or 3rd party add-on lets integrate remote desktop services rdweb , actual remote app icons, essentials rwa portal?
having 2 separate sites/portals essentials rwa , rdweb/remoteapp quite clunky.
i agree... ability have users access remoteapps essentials server's built-in rwa website big step above simply allowing them access rds server's full desktop. you've mentioned, way remoteapps seamlessly integrate user's client computer (as if running locally) hard beat.
that being said, have looked in using remoteapp , desktop connection (radc) web feed functionality of rds server in order bring published remoteapps on client computers instead? unless have specific need have users sign in essentials server's rwa website, radc should work great alternative connection method. basically, enter radc web feed connection url (provided by the radc web feed functionality of the rd web access server role on rds server) "remoteapp , desktop connections" control panel applet on each of client computers (or can use radc "default connection" group policy functionality in order push out of domain joined clients). doing bring of published remoteapp programs (for signed in user) over, , add them shortcuts start menu/screen. so, instead of user having sign in rwa website, have direct access published remoteapps straight client computer.
other that, won't make promises, i'll adding ability of pulling remoteapps rds server existing set of add-ins. have 75% (or more) of required work completed, it's definitely possibility. need come clean way integrate existing feature set.
