Why does Windows do this...

on windows server 2012 had 3 seagate barracuda 3tb disks installed in software raid-5. gave them letter e:.

i started copy files single disk more secure raid-5 disk , morning saw strange folders appear. dated last night 3 , figured had windows scheduled update. not understand why windows this, doesn't add in logic. had 1 disk removed did same thing, , made 3 disks new letter. wanted keep things neat , clean, windows making mess. can tell me how can redirect disk, 1 that's been in there beginning, let's say, c: ???

the folders empty, tried watch update going, failed, maybe that's reason why leaves garbage folders...

it's bit hard limited information provided. can give names of these files / folders created? sounds assuming these windows updates related windows updates default c: drive.
