Windows 2008R2 - SP1 or Functional level upgrade; UPN without suffix no longer works

hey everyone.

we took our last domain , applied windows 2008r2 sp1, , raised functional level. running issues people cannot login without full upn, or samaccountname. instance, had user account so.

directory name          upn                                                                 pre-w2k name
brivestava, ashish    abrivestava.operative@corp.mydomain.com    abrivestava.operativ

people able login using upn without suffix, e.g. 'abrivestava.operative' , required use either samaccounname / pre-w2k name, or full upn. i've searched, , thing can find article talks 'changes in identity , authentication in windows server 2008 r2'-

but nothing tells me how can specify 'default' upn suffix login / gc lookups. i've verified accounts have correct upn specified... have thoughts on this?

hi,

may use group policy set default domain logon:
gpo-->computer configuration-->policies-->administrative templates-->system-->logon-->assign default domain logon
