adding server 2008 server to sbs 2003 domain fails


 

i want add new (application) server server 2008 standard (64-bit) to existing sbs 2003 premium (32-bit) server (domain controller).

 

however when add server, using add server wizard , typing http://server/computerconnect error message indicating doesn't work os (server 2008). message refers to compatibility list http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=75019

 

how solve?

hello,

 

you can add computer running windows server 2008 member server or second domain controller windows sbs network.

however, cannot use wizards in windows sbs or http://servername/connectcomputer web site so.

 

to join computer running windows server 2008 member server windows sbs network, please follows:

 

1.  physically connect computer running windows server 2008 windows sbs network.

 

2.  log on computer running windows server 2008 using local administrator account.

 

3.  click start, right-click computer, , click properties. system control panel appears.

 

4.  click change settings.

 

5.  if user account control dialog box appears, confirm action displays want, , click continue.

 

6.  on computer name tab, click change.

 

7.  select domain, type name of windows sbs domain name, , click ok.

 

8.  type user name , password windows sbs domain administrator account, , click ok.

 

9.  click ok twice, , click close save settings.

 

10.  restart server.
