Upgrade Win 2003 to 2008


i trying upgrade sever 2003r2 2008r2.  using msdn disk - os_4617.01  tried inserting dvd , running it.  told boot computer , install.  when did told if want upgrade , not wipe drive (which want do) should restart server , run disc - booting disc not upgrade.

can microsoft make mind??????

it's old nerd torture device: piece of paper had "see other side" written on both sides....

in-place upgrades 32-bit 64-bit architectures not supported. editions of windows server 2008 r2 64-bit only.

  • in-place upgrades 1 language not supported.
  • in-place upgrades 1 build type (fre chk, example) not supported.
  • if not see current version in left column, upgrading release of windows server 2008 r2 not supported.
