NLB cluster problem

 

could give me advice solution should use provide high availability scenario?

iis server connected sql database. dedicated solutions are: server cluster sql – fine , nlb cluster iis , found 1 problem this.

files on iis server supposed change in case system users upload attachments local hdd instead database. asked developers if able change , answer no.

so question can do? way provide fail on cluster iis , have 1 storage it? don’t need load balancing need real fail over.

and in addition iis health on service level needs checked.

any suggestions?

best practice approach continue use nlb iis , clustering sql.  while technically cluster iis, wouldn't recommend it, particularly since you're trying solve process issue within organization (as sounds me).  make developers fix broken application.  if continue refuse, escalate issue potential security exposure perspective. :)  thought.
