Direct Access and WIndows Phone 8.1?

hi –

i reaching out community here because haven’t been able find concrete. 

the scenario wish have links sent through on-prem sharepoint farm resolve on user’s windows phone whilst roaming.  the root of issue client not have split dns in place.  therefore when send link sharepoint site it’s url mysite.acme.int, example, not resolvable outside of corporate network; acme.com however.

we have direct access (2012 r2) in place , use windows phone 8.1.  what trying determine whether or not can leverage da connection windows phones in order attain url resolution.

barring have bright ideas on how conquer problem?

you cannot leverage directaccess on windows phone 8.1

you can deploy vpn profile windows phone 8.1 using compliance settings in system center configuration manager (if have access it).

you consider using sharepoint online.

failing (and can't verify work you), you'll need expose site through dmz/firewall , create external dns entry xyz.acme.com , point @ internal site - although the links within sharepoint not work.
