Frequently unexpected shutdown windows server 2003


hi experts ,

need in resolving unexpected shutdown happing windows server 2003. below log details.

server : hp dl 360 g5

note : had run hardware diagnostic , not found issue.

event type:         error

event source:      eventlog

event category:  none

event id:              6008

date:                      2/19/2015

time:                     8:48:40 pm

user:                      n/a

computer:           <server hostname>

description:

the previous system shutdown @ 8:04:10 pm on 2/19/2015 unexpected.

you can check if have dump files bsods generated. if yes should under c:\windows\minidumps or should have full dump named memory.dmp under c:\windows.

of course, can still following basic steps:

  • install missing windows updates
  • install recent driver / firmware / bios updates
  • uninstall unused programs
  • do clean boot of os
  • do memory check using memtest86+. if error detected replace faulty ram

if none can temporary disable security software running on server , try again.
