Migrate DNS from Lucent QIP to Windows 2003 Domain Contoller (MS-DNS)
i trying move dns lucent qip 7.2 microsoft dns. currently, of active directory information (including exchange 2003) in dns zones hosted on lucent box. need seamlessly move zone ad integrated dns zone on domain controllers.
is best way following instructions in article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323419) , doing zone transfer? work since zone must ad integrated? or should make secondary zone , change ad inegrated zone? (if can that)
please advise.
thanks,

so, in summary (note: memory on wizard, may have missed step):
1) install dns on domain controller (pdc preferebly) add/remove programs
2) create new dns zone (secondary)
3) name zone "contoso.com"
4) select "store zone in active directory"
5) select "only allow secure dynamic updates" (if source dns server supports)
6) select dns master server (third party device)
7) finish the wizard
8) select "update dns zone master"
9) change zone primary
10) change domain controller point @ itself
11) change secondary domain controller point @ primary
12) install dns server on secondary domain controller
13) zone populate via ad replication on secondary controller
14) change secondary controller point @ dns
15) change exchange point @ primary/secondary dc dns
16) change static iped servers point @ dcs dns
17) change dhcp scopes point @ dcs dns
18) decomission third party dns
sound correct?
