Unable to finish renaming a single-lable DNS domain name, any suggestions?
my problem: have 2008-native ad domain has dns name "test" (yes, old configuration, using silly single-lable dns name) , netbios name "test".
my objective: trying rename dns domain "test" "test.lan".
i have run twice on test setup similar own production network, created domain scratch, added 2 domain controllers , 1 control station domain, configured similar production setup, fails after run "rendom /end" or "rendom /clean".
the error after running /end or /clean is:
failed delete rename script on dn: cn=partitions,cn=configuration,dc=test,dc=lan on host test-dc1.test.lan. 00002077: svcerr: dsid-030f0bae, problem 5003 (will_not_perform), data 0: win32 error 1003 :1003
i following these instructions here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc794793(v=ws.10).aspx
