Time out expired.

 

hi all,

 

 

when developer  to retreive data through ssms displays this

 

 

error source:- .net sql client data provider

error message :- time out expired. time out period elapsed prior completion of theoperation or server not responding.

 

 i  checked in ssms tools -->options-->query execution 0.

last week users display same above .wht may problem.

 why happens?

well investigate if case if work locally @ server. if not there might either complex calculations involved withint simple select * statement or might have hardware issue on machine,

having sql server wait hardware ressources or physical io. guess , needs further investigation.
