to complicate things, purchase 2 additional servers host 2 virtual environments each via hyper-v. have windows server 2012 on them. mean need purchase 100 user cals each of 2 additional servers plus 100 user cals each of virtual servers being hosted?

guidance here: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/about-licensing/client-access-license.aspx
each user/computer requires cal. can use user-cal model, or device-cal model.
either acceptable, long each "connection" licensed.
once "connection" assigned cal, "connection" may access other servers without need cal.
e.g. user_a logs on @ pc_a domain account (contoso/user1) , connects server_dc1, connects network drive server_fs1. requires total of 1 cal.
for scenario, have 100 users. if have 100 pc's, need 100 cals, regardless of how many windows servers have. each of 100 users, or, each of 100 pc's, requires windows cal.
if have less computers have users, or, less users have computers, can buy lower number of cals of relevant type. (check guidance, , example scenarios understand more user-cals vs. device-cals)
