2008 Terminal Server CALs with 2003 Terminal Server

hi

can please me problem?

searching around, i've found information, and i believe 2008 terminal licensing server can issue 2008 ts user cal's 2003 terminal server , allow users login, not requiring me purchase 2003 ts user cal's.

anyway, here's problem. have 2008 terminal server acting licensing server 50 2008 ts user cal's installed , works ok. in 'license program' says type 'open' (i assume because purchased our licenses on volume licensing agreement).

we have need install 2003 terminal server , allow users connect it, etc. i've placed 2003 server in same domain 2008 machine, , if go licensing manager can see 2003 machine, in 'ts cal version , type' field says 'temporary ts per device cals' , 'license program' says 'temporary'.

someone told me need make 2003 server licensing server , install 2008 cal's on that, don't know, it's confusing. can tell me need resolve this, or need purchase 2003 ts user cal's?

many thanks

a 2008 license server can serve ts cal's 2003 server.  not problem.  if have license service installed on win2k3 terminal server, remove , point win2k8 license server.
