Pausing a Video with Silverlight 1.1 and VS 2008

i have been having trouble building video player allows user pause , navigate through video.

this was tedious in 1.0, it  seemed work. (and heck @ least ran on w2k server)

in 1.1 seems broken. the media element shows pause method, calling nothing. saw somewhere this isn't possible in 1.1 if video being streamed, but that doesn't make sense if every video played on site uses 1.1 version of silverlight.

can 1 point me in right direction? (it suck loose feature avaiable in the initial release)

  not sure whether works in 1.1 in silverlight 2 can work. can download silverlight 2 here.
