AlwaysON quorum vote question for Disaster recovery only setup


hello,

i planning implement alwayson synching data between main site , dr site in asynchronous fashion. 2 node set up, 1 on main site , on dr site. far voting goes, have read in multiple white papers common remove quorum vote dr node. leaves 1 node (on main site) with vote of 1 , since it's odd number guessing that i don't need set file share witness additional vote.  my question is:

a. does topology of alwayson 1 node on main site , 1 node on dr work without file share witness work?

b. voting 0 dr node , 1 main site node makes sense?

c. periodically (once or twice year), dr test. during time, need failover dr site and test. but, after test done, need perform full database backup/restore main site dr site before setting alwayson or there better way don't need full backup/restore? has similar setup , these test periodically, love hear solution options.

sql server version using sql 2012.

yes work. however, in two-node setup without witness, have 50/50 change keep cluster online if lose 1 node.

depends on want. in configuration, if lost dr node, main node still online. if lose main node, cluster taken offline.

in asynchronous-commit mode, failover option forced failover(with possible data loss). correct me if i’m wrong, if data loss in unacceptable during failover, should take backups before setting alwayson. more information, please review bol.
