RDP from a windows 7 x64 computer to a 2008 x64 server HP LaserJet M1319f MFP won't print

i have installed x64 driver hp laserjet m1319f mfp both on windows 7 x64 workstation , windows server 2008 r2 x64 terminal server to get printer redirected. printer redirected user can't print, keeps on giving output device error. the user printing ms dynamics great plains.

hi,

are using rd easy print on server redirected printer?  you may check looking @ printer properties--advanced tab of redirected printer on server.

this printer host-based , such not work using regular (non rd easy print) drivers, , may not work rd easy print driver either.  fact seeing error symptom of printer/print driver not compatible remote desktop services.

if using manufacturer's driver auto-created printers on server recommend remove , see if printer work rd easy print.  if not work rd easy print then recommend not use printer rds/terminal services.  host-based printers typically use more bandwidth/cpu similar non host-based printer has ability natively understand pcl/ps/etc, reason makes them unsuitable multi user environment rds server.

when looking @ printers preferred use 1 specifications understands pcl/pcl5/pcl5e/pcl6/ps or similar , specifications do not say host-based, gdi, lidil, etc.  recommend check printer has basic, small download size drivers available pclx/ps/xps , preferrably whql-certified.
