Urgent Help Needed!! DNS Records for Site-to-Site VPN & File REPLICATION?
hi,
i open offer support here. have 3 domain controllers, each in different site. need these 3 dc's able replicate active directory, dns records , other necessary information eachother allow them synchronised. also, each user within active directory, individual user storage area has been created, need files within these storage areas replicated throughout 3 dc's. roaming profiles. have shared storage area replicate throughout 3. have tried , have tried configure dfs namespace , replication sorry total noob this.
i need dns records. in order 3 dc's communicate each other, have set vpn dc2 , dc3 both pointing @ dc1. when connect via vpn using routing , remote access, given ipv4 address different 1 @ site. example, have:
domain controller 1 on subnet 10.1.10.0/24
domain controller 2 on subnet 10.2.10.0/24
domain controller 3 on subnet 10.3.10.0/24
i want able @ site 1 , able open remote desktop connection dc2 (at site 2) using 10.2.10.2 ip instead given ip on dc1 subnet when connecting through vpn such 10.1.10.39.
any appreciated! thanks
hi caltommon,
> however, want dc2 , dc3 have same ip address have within own site when connect. dc2 has 10.2.10.2 , dc3 has 10.3.10.2.
1. it's hard assign same ip address vpn client, can not controlled manually.
>however, if dns has 2 entries dc2 , dc3 (one @ site , 1 @ vpn) causes problems when communicating two.
2. vpn client not register virtual ip address dns.
3. based on understanding, if only want dc2 , dc3 replica dc1, then, enable dc2 , dc3 to use vpn server access dc1, dc1 not need additional configurations access external network. why want dc1 ping dc2 , dc3?
if want each site can communicate each, dc1 can ping dc2 (with fqdn) dc1 can ping dc3, then need deploy site-to-site vpn, each site need set vpn server, internal networks of site1,2,3 can communicate each other.
best regards,
anne
