Trying to access Shared Folder on VM running WIndows Server 2003

i have windows server 2003 virtual environment(vmware) acting file server( or @ least trying be) , trying access shared folder that i created on telling me "the account not authorized log in station?".  have tried countless forums on issue , have ran wall, can please help.

did have active directory?
