Windows Explorer Search

i running classroom private network windows server 2008 r2 enterprise server , 35 windows 7 machines.  have setup login policy "student" group limits user accessability making changes computer.  however, haven't been able find way disable or remove search functionality windows explorer.  have disabled ability use start button search through gpo, windows explorer search still functions 100%.  have made not able see harddrives on computers, through search function can search of "*" , shows them of files on harddrive shouldn't see.

i know remove search function , solve problem, however, having ability administrators able run things start button search makes things alot easier.

any suggestions?

i try changing ntfs permissions on c:\ partition on desktops via gp then.
