SQL Server required for Active Directory

i've been implementing new server , doing initial ups. last night backed system state of exchange server (exchange 2000 running on server 2000 sp 4) running active dirctory. there several access warnings when tried files in data directory located here:

c:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql.1\mssql\data

is part of active directory? errors of system databases in directory (master, tempdb, msdb, , model). these problems should concerend or can exclude these plan?

there 2 other warnings c:\winnt\system32\dhcp\j50.log , c:\winnt\system32\wins\j50.log, both access issues said in use.

i'm sure these not concerns right wanted sure, i'd appreciate feedback or nudges in right direction.

active directory has no dependencies on sql.  if no longer require it, can safely remove it.  may want @ databases hosted in sql instance , make sure don't need of them before removing sql.
