VSSConverter Migrate skipping files in root
this migration of parts of vss 6.0 (upgraded vss2005) project tfs2010 version 10.0.30319.01.
i have migrated 8 other projects without issue familiar xml configuration , it's parts.
this case special want bring on of sub folders under 'main' folder our project(names changed protect innocent, , yes not named main):
<project source="$/main/communication" destination="$/mainmigrate/main/main/communication"></project>
<project source="$/main/conversion" destination="$/mainmigrate/main/main/conversion"></project>
<project source="$/main/desktopclient" destination="$/mainmigrate/main/main/desktopclient"></project>
<project source="$/main/loggingdatabase" destination="$/mainmigrate/main/main/loggingdatabase"></project>
when checking results noticed main.sln , associated files @ root not moved!
things tried:
1) re-run $/main requested: source="$/main" destination="$/mainmigrate/main/main" project mapping. received error tf60099: given folder mappings not match last migrated mappings. following original mapping please use incremental migration. <from>$/...</from><to>$/mainmigrate/main/...</to> (etc original list of project mappings)
2) re-run project mapping source="$/main" destination="$/mainmigrate/main/main" above original mapping. received error tf60042: $/main/communication descendent of $/main. provide independent source folders migration.
tf60041: $/mainmigrate/main/main/communication descendent of $/mainmigrate/main/main. provide independent destination folders migration.
3) realize simple fix bring solution files manually vss reference folder mapped workspace , add them tfs project manually. plan today, since test history migrated if files included in vssconverter migration.
4) yes migrate whole tree, , delete items tfs, serve increase migrate time running on 3 hours.
hoping out there has better solution! in advance.
(searched diligently unsuccessful, bad sign when 1-2 hit in web search something... search on error tf60017)
the files under root, s.a. $/main/main.sln, are not mapped in configuration file. can tried add $/main/main.sln configuration?
thanks,
pei
