What is the reason behind the minimum count on the KMS Host?

hi,

i have set kms host (w2k8r2) to activate os , ms office 2010. our second kms host (the first 1 set while , w2k8 not activate office 2010), few of new pcs' os got counted on host. therefore, os (windows 7) on pcs (currently 7 counts) not activated , license status in vamt is shown  "notification" , genuine status "non genuine".

how can solve this? have wait until 25th new pc brought online? why have minimum count anyway?

thanks!

anch

hi anch,

you saying server windows server 2008 r2 os second kms host. mean using 2 kms hosts in environment activate clients? old kms host still in use activate windows os?

to qualify kms activation, network must meet activation threshold: kms hosts activate client computers after meeting threshold. ensure activation threshold met, kms host counts number of computers requesting activation on network. computers running windows server 2008 or windows server 2008 r2, activation threshold five. computers running windows vista or windows 7, activation threshold 25. thresholds include client computers , servers running on physical computers or virtual machines. design.

regards,

karen ji
