Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 - disk performance issue

hi

running 3 node cluster on hyper-v server 2008 r2 on hp blade eva 4400 san storage.

we have noticed big impact on disk performance inside guest vm running on windows 2008 server system.

on guest vm running on windows 2003/2000 system there normal disk performance.

it's strange, becasue happens performance inside vm. each vm have it's own lun (a csv volume).

testing throughput host or other physical server  to hyper-v r2 csv volume show 60-100mb/s. testing performance host or other physical server vm running on same lun (csv volume) tested earlier, shows 7-10mb/s. strange testing performance host or other physical server vm running windows 2003 or 2000 (not 2008) show 40-60mb/s.

so more specific running 2 vm on 1 hyper-v host each on it's own csv volume (lun). testing disk performance directly csv/lun volume it's normal both volumes. testing disk performance first vm running on windows 2003 it's normal, disk performance second vm running on windows 2008 it's below normal 7-10mb/s.

before hyper-v r2 cluster have single node installation of microsoft windows server 2008 enterprise hyper-v role enabled, running same virtual machines have been moved r2 cluster without performance issue.

we're running out of ideas causing delay. it's quite impossible users work on problematic vm because system busy time, when log vm (2008) it's impossible work on it, because disk performance high.

any next appriciated. we're thinking of contacting ms open case, since we're allow use support due our license agreement.

regards

mike

have nodes received updates hyper-v role since 2008 vms deployed?

make sure integration services date on affected vms.
