first thing suggest hardware tunnel solution, such pair of cisco asas. reliable, 99.9999% uptime, , cheaper using windows server rras wan wan setup (price of windows license, , server run on). using hardware industry defacto, @ least all customers i've had have configured, corporate students i've had in class. exception one customer had tmg on each end tunnel. tmg has provisions set up, compared rras. besides, using hardware allows server @ best, server. , besides, if these servers dcs, dcs are not recommended multihomed (dual nics, ips, rras on them, etc). if multihomed dcs, numerous issues *will* occur.

with hardware solution, routing automatically configured between private lans across tunnel, , each office uses own firewall internet traffic.

with windows, static routes need configured, not hard using route command.

i hope helps, i'm sure may generate additional questions. :-)
