Conditional Forwarder routing failure

we experienced outage out secondary data center unavailable.  during outage (including loss of secondary dns server) hosts @ our primary site had selected routing path through conditional forwarder using secondary dns server unable resolve addresses.

does sound familiar , if can fix it?

i relatively new dns administration here appreciated.

hi wood,

since secondary dns server unavailable, queries sent not resolved.

to solve problem, modify conditional forwarder forward queries primary server of zone.(or other secondary zone)

open dns manager, expand conditional forwarders. right click on corresponding 1 , click properties, edit server.

here guide:
assign conditional forwarder domain name:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc794735%28v=ws.10%29.aspx?f=255&mspperror=-2147217396

besides, create secondary zone on local dns server resolve queries of zone.

here guide:
add secondary server existing zone:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc816814%28v=ws.10%29.aspx?f=255&mspperror=-2147217396

best regards,

leo
