Windows Server 2012 R2 Error setting IP address using NETSH in recovery mode - wpeinit makes no difference

i have server 2012 server i'm testing out bare metal restores to. cannot connect network folder because cannot network ip address using netsh. if run "netsh int ipv4 set add name="ethernet" source=static x.x.x.x x.x.x.x x.x.x.x" message "the interface unknown".

i've read following thread, taken advice run wpeinit first didn't make difference on server 2012 machine.

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/windowsserver/en-us/e0e7e4b6-dd54-40e8-87df-076890ef12f6/windows-server-2008-r2-error-setting-ip-address-using-netsh-command-syntax-limitations-in-recovery?forum=winservercore

i have 3 interfaces displaying in netsh, ethernet, ethernet 2 , pseudo loopback interface.

any other suggestions? physical server can't attach vhd using hyper-v, , won't of dr solution having recover external hard drive plugging server perform recovery. there must way of getting network connectivity share somehow recovery console??

thanks

thanks reply. sorted now. article mentioned did work in end, had start scratch , run wpeinit before other commands. had assumed run wpeinit @ point , able use netsh commands, seems if have run netsh command wpeinit nothing. rebooted , started recovery scratch again , didn't need run netsh machine picked dhcp addresses.

regards

mark
