How can I disable Shutdown for non-Administrator accounts accessing a server through remote desktop?


despite repeeatedly explaining few users gave non-administrator access windows 2003 server r2 machine not click on shutdown when log-off did (and no 1 admitting it).

how can disable not administrator being able shutdown server when access using remote desktop?

please use administrator account log onto terminal server , perform following steps:

 

1.    run secpol.msc launch local security policy.

2.    navigate security settings\local policies\user rights assignment\shut down system.

3.    remove users or groups want restrict.

 

or

 

1.    move non-administrator domain users ou.

2.    link gpo ou , use following group policy:

 

user configuration\administrative templates\start menu , taskbar\remove , prevent access shut down, restart, sleep, , hibernate commmands.
