my computer has windows vista home, x86. have been using visual web developer express 2005 , ssme 2005, upgraded vwde 2008  sp1 (that upgrade  included upgrade sql server 2008). of course, need upgrade ssme 2008 web sites have changed vwde 2008.   i have downloaded file , tried install several times. when sql installation center, choose upgrade, get select features page, selections greyed out , can't go further because error message says, "select feature install." have tried install ssme 2008 without upgrade sql installation center , same type of greyed out stuff , can't make selections.   after spending morning reading blogs , technical columns, left having no idea of how ssme 2008 working on computer. ideas? hello everyone. i've been having long term issues microsoft dns server on 08 server box runs in house's basement. server manages active directory , hosts sql server among other things. client computers in house use server primary , dns server. dns role on server has been left in vanilla state, no forwarders etc.  this works fine, generally. local lan dns lookups work fine time. however, internet dns ups more sporadic. majority of time internet looks ups work fine , there's no issues.
